Whispering Streets
Daytime drama, still going, after television had taken the audience.
The daytime serial was the last thing network radio gave up. Whispering Streets ran until November 1960 — within a fortnight of the end of the whole tradition, when CBS cancelled the last of the soaps on the same afternoon. It is not a great series. It matters because it is late: this is what was still on the air in the years everyone assumes radio drama was already dead.
